Jannat Mirza opens up about calling off engagement

Pakistani social media influencer Jannat Mirza recently opened up about her personal life, discussing her decision to end her engagement and her views on marriage.

In a podcast, Jannat Mirza explained that calling off her engagement was a decision made after two years of careful consideration with her former partner, not an impulsive choice.

"I wasn't ready for the breakup; why would anyone be ready for such a thing? But yes, I wasn't afraid of it, and I was happy afterward," Jannat shared.

She also expressed her preference for traditional arranged marriages, believing they have more charm and face fewer unavoidable issues.

"Arranged marriages have more charm. In my past relationship, I saw numerous issues that couldn't be ignored, especially since marriage is for a lifetime," she said.

Jannat further disclosed that she no longer believes in giving second chances in relationships. Her candid insights have sparked widespread interest and discussion on social media, with many followers supporting her decision and praising her openness.

Bangladesh has been engulfed by protests and violence that began last month after student groups demanded scrapping of a controversial quota system in government jobs.
